4WD modification makes perfection

We already know that your 4WD is awesome—but did you know that it can be even better? You can personalise your 4WD with amazing add-ons, modifications and accessories. You can also add certain safety features to ensure that you, your passengers and your vehicle remain safe and secure at all times.

Browse through some of our modification and add-on services, which include, but are not limited to:

Lift Kits

Are you thinking about improving the look of your 4WD with a lift kit? Lifting suspension refers to raising your vehicle and increasing its height and dimension.

  • Ability to install larger tyres: Suspension lifts give your truck the space to install larger and wider sets of tyres.
  • Changing the general look of your 4WD: Lifted vehicles have a more rugged, off-road look that many owners simply love.
  • Overall off-road performance: When properly set up, suspension lifts can boost performance and handling in rough terrain.

We offer a range of vehicle lifts, including:

  • Suspension lift kits: With suspension lifts, we raise the front and rear of your vehicle with either a struct spacer or an extended shackle. This method can lift your vehicle up to two inches.
  • Springs & shocks: We can install springs and shocks on the front and rear of the vehicle, which is the most common way of lifting. Depending on the vehicle, this method can raise your vehicle two inches or higher.
  • Adjustable coilover: We can fit your vehicle with an adjustable coilover, which can raise your vehicle up to four inches (depending upon your vehicle).

Tyres

As you know, every 4WD comes with a factory-standard set of tyres. However, depending on your vehicle and local regulations*, you can choose to install larger and wider tyres on your vehicle. Contact our team at Bullivant Automotive today for more information.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Have a question about your 4WD needs? We’ve got your answers!

Contact Us

  • I own a 4WD and I can’t find anyone to work on it besides the dealer. Can you help?

Yes we can! We are 4WD specialists and offer any kind of maintenance or repair that you require. Not everyone is qualified to work on these specialised vehicles and not everyone has the correct equipment and systems to perform proper service. We are also less expensive than dealerships—making us an ideal alternative. Give us a call to find out more.

  • Do you perform modifications and add-ons?

Yes. As with light vehicles, we also provide a wide variety of aftermarket modifications for 4WDs.

  • What kind of accessories do I need for my 4WD?

The 4WD accessories that you need depends entirely on your planned activity. There are “cosmetic” modifications that you may choose to make; however, if you are planning an off-road adventure or going to remote areas, you’ll want to have certain accessories included, especially for emergencies. Give us a call and let us know what activities you are planning – we can make recommendations and help you make sound decisions.

  • How do I prep my 4WD for serious off-roading?

Always thoroughly check your vehicle before going off-road. Check your tyres to make sure that the tyre pressure matches manufacturer recommendations. Make sure that the battery is securely fastened (they can loosen over time). Check that all hoses are in good condition and that oil and fluids are topped off. Stop into Bullivant Automotive and we’ll do a pre-trip check-up for you.

  • Is it safe to go off-road with my 4WD or should I just use it for severe weather?

It is safe to use your 4WD in rugged areas, but you also need to be smart about it. In addition to the pre-off-roading check-up recommended above, you should also have a reliable GPS, extra food, fresh water, extra fuel and an emergency plan. Plan your route ahead of time and if you are not travelling with someone (which we highly recommend) let at least one person know where you will be. Also keep in mind that mobile phones can have spotty coverage in remote areas, so it’s a good idea to check with your phone provider to go over their coverage areas.
